Gelhardt proud of Leeds home debut after Wolves draw

Joe Gelhardt was proud to make his home debut for Leeds United in their 1-1 draw with Wolves.

The forward came off the bench for Marcelo Bielsa's side and put in a superb display, coming close to scoring himself before winning the penalty that secured the team a point.

Speaking after the match and summarising the atmosphere inside the stadium today, he gave his thoughts.

Gelhardt said: “It was very good, to come on and make my home debut in front of the fans in the Premier League, the noise was crazy!

“I went a bit numb to be honest! When I heard the noise, all your tiredness goes away, you don't feel tired you just feel ready.

“They are like a twelfth man out there, you can really tell. It was a good point on the board, the way we had them in the last 20 minutes, we could have had three on another day.

“I'd love to play more games here at Elland Road and in the Premier League in the future."

On the game itself, having won the spot-kick which Rodrigo scored from, Joffy said he had no doubts in his strike partner finding the net.

“I think we were unlucky not to come away with three points in the end," he explained.

“From my chance it was a great save. I thought if I hit it with power it'll have a chance of going in, but yeah, it was a great save.

“For the penalty I was fully confident in Rodrigo, I knew he would put it away, I didn't really follow it in as much because I thought he was going to bury it, I was made up."
