Galliani insists AC Milan can still qualify for Europa League

AC Milan GM Adriano Galliani insists they can still qualify for the Europa League this season.

Galliani was speaking before victory over Cagliari.

"Are our objectives far away? We'll see. If Napoli or Fiorentina win the Europa League in their current positions, there would be room for a seventh Serie A side to enter Europe.

"Many clubs had difficult periods, but few remember that a year ago we were the only Italian team in Europe at this stage. It wasn't a decade ago.

"Certainly 35 points isn't much, you don't need to be a great expert to say that this is an insufficient campaign. We know that too and will try to get out of this.

"It has happened before, we won the Scudetto in 1996, then finished 10th and 11th in a League with 18 teams. We won the Scudetto again in 1999.

"With Silvio Berlusconi at the helm I am confident we will get back on track once more."
