Gabriele Gravina named new president of FIGC

Gabriele Gravina has been named new president of FIGC.

The former Lega Pro chief has been elected as the FIGC's new president.

Gravina won the presidency with a runaway 97.2 percent of the vote at an election assembly on Monday, having been the only candidate to replace Carlo Tavecchio.

The 65-year-old was previously at the helm of Lega Pro, governing Serie C – the third tier of Italian football.

Gravina is also known in Italy for his tenure as President of Castel di Sangro, guiding the minnows to five promotions and Serie B between 1984 and 1996.
