Gabigol signed for Inter last week in a big money move.
Wagner Ribeiro recalled: "Juventus had only proposed something and were awaiting our response, no one came to talk with us.
"Inter instead had already made a strong play. The president came to dinner with us, said he wanted to talk to Gabriel, so that they could convince him. The new owners have told me they want to do for Inter what has been done with Manchester City and Chelsea.
"Their project is wonderful and Gabriel will be a big star. They want to make Inter the best team in Europe. They bought Joao Mario for €45 million and Gabriel is the second name they have turned to."
