Palermo sports chief Rino Foschi has confirmed he's been locked in talks with Flamengo for attacking midfielder Renato Augusto.

Foschi revealed last night: "Renato Augusto would like to come and play for us, but the deal with Flamengo is very difficult. Twenty days ago, I met with the Brazilian and I can assure you he knows everything about Palermo.

"The operation is extremely complicated as there are problems related not only to the value of the player, who is wanted by other very important foreign clubs, but also the rules that are binding on the membership of non-players.

"However, for the fans of Palermo, I feel proud that a player as good as he would place Palermo at the top of his preferences."
