Former Sunderland winger Adam Johnson has been found guilty of engaging in sexual activity with a child.
Johnson was facing two counts of the offence, with the 28-year-old being found guilty of the second charge with a majority verdict of 10-2.
Judge Jonathan Rose indicated Johnson could face up to five years of prison time for the offence.
"The defendant must understand there is a very high probability of a significant custodial sentence," Rose said.
Johnson will appeal the guilty verdict.
