Former Eindhoven winger Wau to trial with Newcastle Jets

Dutch winger Nyron Wau is on trial with the Newcastle Jets as they look to bolster their waning playing list. 26-year old Wau has spent much of his career playing in Holland, initially with PSV Eindhoven before taking up loan spells with MVV Maastricht and Helmond Sport.

He then joined RBC Roosendaal before undertaking another loan deal with FC Den Bosch.

More recently, Wau has been plying his trade in Cyprus but had his term with Nea Salamis Ammochostos cut short due to a contractual dispute.

Jets high-performance manager Ian Crook said the club was looking at the winger very closely.

"For all intents and purposes, he is a typical Dutch wide player," Crook said.

"Obviously we need to have a look at him more closely, but most players from Holland are good technically.

"He has some pace and a left foot, which gives a nice balance to things."
