Forest winger Hudson-Odoi: Why I left Chelsea; Cooper key

Callum Hudson-Odoi admits the presence of Steve Cooper convinced him about joining Nottingham Forest.

The winger arrived last month from Chelsea.

He told the Telegraph: “Chelsea has been my home for a very long time and knowing it was time to leave was emotional. It was difficult, we had conversations but I thought it was best to leave.

"It was a mutual agreement, but I would say it was more my decision. Forest is the right place for me to excel in my football and do more than I probably could at Chelsea. I want to play as much as possible.

"There were many different places I could have gone to, but when 'Coops' called, my thoughts were on coming here. He definitely got the best out of me with England. The great thing about him is how he understands players, on and off the pitch. He always makes sure that you are mentally right, comfortable and free in what you do."
