Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest are set to approach Atletico Madrid regarding one of their defenders.

Steve Cooper's side are eager to continue spending on new players this winter.

Per the Daily Mail, Forest will ask Atletico about taking Mario Hermoso on loan until the end of the season.

Despite being a regular for Atleti in past campaigns, Hermoso has only managed four league appearances this term.

Him going out on loan does appear likely, but whether he chooses Forest is another matter.

The 27-year-old may believe that he can secure a move to a club in a European competition.
