Nottingham Forest plan to ask Manchester United for permission to play Dean Henderson in their Carabao Cup semi finals.

The Red Devils and the newly promoted Premier League club will battle in a two-legged semi final.

The winner will play either Newcastle United or Southampton for the League Cup trophy.

United are under no obligation to agree, but Forest boss Steve Cooper admitted they will pursue it nonetheless.

Per The Mirror, Cooper said: “It's something we will look into the possibility of pursuing.

“But it's all just talk at the minute. We haven't really had a chance to breathe since the game. We'll pick that up as and when."
