Forest captain Gibbs-White delighted defeating Man Utd: We're making history

Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White was delighted proving the matchwinner against Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford appeared to have secured a point for the visitors when canceling out Nicolas Dominguez's opener for Forest. But Gibbs-White struck a late winner after a clever cut back from former United winger Anthony Elanga.

He later said: "Manchester United are good on the counter attack so we tried to avoid that as much as possible. I thought we were in control in the first 20 minutes then it opened up. I thought we deserved the win tonight.

"At half-time the manager said we needed to be more aggressive with and without the ball. We fully deserved the three points. My goal? I am delighted to help the boys get the three points. I saw the space was there, stayed composed, breathed, and picked my spot. Thankfully it went in.

"I believe this club is really creating history. The only way now is forward especially with the manager coming and the players believing and trusting in him."

On Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner's error which allowed United to equalise, he added: "If one of us makes a mistake, it's the whole team that makes a mistake. We've got each other's backs. Matty has dug us out of plenty of holes."
