Fleetwood Town targeting Chelsea coach Anthony Barry

Fleetwood Town are targeting Chelsea coach Anthony Barry.

The Daily Mailsays Barry was thrown into the spotlight on Monday afternoon by taking charge of training in the hours after Frank Lampard's sacking.

The 34-year-old – who joined Lampard's staff last August - is expected to play a significant role in Wednesday night's Premier League clash with Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

But League One Fleetwood are keen on talking to their former player Barry about taking over as they look to wrap up a quick appointment. Barton was relieved of his duties earlier this month.

Chelsea would then be facing a battle to keep hold of a coach, brought in as a defensive specialist, who is believed to enjoy a strong rapport with the current squad.
