Flamengo are preparing to sell Joao Gomes in January.

The midfielder is being followed by Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid.

Journalist Jorge Nicola has credited the three aforementioned clubs with interest in the 21-year-old versatile midfielder, who signed a new contract earlier this year.

“Flamengo are looking for someone to replace João Gomes," said Nicola. “Who is in the sights of European clubs."

“I talked to Carlinhos Mineiro, who is the representative of Wallisson. “Flamengo have already made an official offer. The offer on the table is around 19 million reais."

Liverpool have been strongly linked with a midfield overhaul in the upcoming summer transfer window due to the age of the current members in their engine room. James Milner will turn 37 later this season, while Jordan Henderson turned 32 in the summer. Thiago isn't far behind either at 31 years old.
