Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hailed Daniel Sturridge in the wake of his scoring performance in the Europa League semi-final second leg.
Sturridge reacted positively to being left out of last week's initial bout at El Madrigal by being involved in all three goals as the Reds dominated Villarreal to win 3-0 at Anfield, progressing to the final 3-1 on aggregate.
It has been reported recently that Klopp and Sturridge had not been seeing eye to eye but the German simply stated that when fit, the 26-year-old is a quality player.
"A great game from Daniel Sturridge," Klopp said.
"You all see now when Daniel Sturridge is fit he is an unbelievable striker but even he needs players to play with and I know about his quality, I knew before I came here. Great player."
Liverpool will meet Sevilla in the final at St Jakob-Park in Basel on May 18.
