Fiorentina coach Italiano: Rapid Vienna won't just roll over

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano says they must play with maturity against Rapid Vienna tonight.

The Viola host the second-leg of their Europa Conference League playoff needing to overcome a 1-0 deficit.

Italiano said: “Tomorrow will be different compared to last year's matches.

“We have to turn this game around, prepare for a comeback, the scenario will be entirely different. We will have to play well and be mature. We will have to be ready on a mental level as well.

“I am convinced that the boys will not be lacking in hunger, we will try to give absolutely everything. We have a great chance of putting them on the back foot and playing the game. If we create chancest and become even better at finishing them, we will be happy."

He continued: “The only thought I have is to try to get through this round. The transfer market affects all teams, not just Fiorentina, but I don't want to talk about that because this is a very important game in our season.

“I'm only focussed on the match, how it will go down and how we will approach it. We will make evaluations based on how it goes. I don't think about things off the pitch, it wouldn't be right for the team and for the club.

“They will put pressure on us. I expect this game to be the same as the second half of the first leg, but it will have to depend on us. We want to score goals and I don't expect a Rapid team that will wait for us. We will have to face the match with calm heads.

“If we play well, we will take control of the match, but there is also an opponent who are not naive. They will want to put pressure on us, we'll see," h
