Fiorentina chief Antognoni casts doubt on Pioli future

Fiorentina team manager Giancarlo Antognoni is unsure about the future of coach Stefano Pioli.

Pioli's deal expires in June with Fiorentina battling to qualify for Europe.

“We're experiencing a year of transition, we have a young squad and they need time," Antognoni told Radio Anch'io Sport.

“However, Florence rightly doesn't have the patience to wait too long. We've been on and off. We can be satisfied with the growth of some of the lads, but we're lacking points in the table due to drawing too many games.

“We're still in the Coppa Italia, which is our primary objective in view of the season finale. We've seen the football Pioli plays, we have a lot of young lads and we play a modern brand of football.

“We're a little inexperienced and that's why we concede a few goals too many. The Coach has done a good job for us.

“We'll see how it goes. I hope he stays at Fiorentina but when things don't go exactly as you'd like them to, another decision can be made."
