Ferrari future in doubt at Roma

Matteo Ferrari's future at Roma remains in doubt.

"Ferrari has a 70 per cent chance of staying with Roma," Gianni Corci told Rete Sport.

"The player wants to come to an agreement with the Giallorossi, but I can't claim that there have been no other offers or that I won't look around, as that is my job."

Roma's fans seem less than delighted at the prospect of Ferrari renewing his deal as they whistled and jeered him during the capital club's game against Sampdoria.

"The boo-boys annoyed me because it was based on prejudice - he was whistled before the game," Corci snarled. "When he goes out there, Matteo is only thinking about playing rather than his contractual situation.

"I have had two or three meetings with the club and I'll be talking directly to the chief Rosella Sensi.

"The problems aren't linked to money but rather due to the fact that other clubs are interested. I turned down a £2m bid from a Russian side a month ago,"
