Rio Ferdinand has urged former club Manchester United to move for Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey.
The Mirror says Ferdinand mentors Godfrey in his New Era agency and clearly sees a huge amount of potential in the player, who has started 25 games in the Championship this season and scored four goals.
The transfer would be all the more likely to go through if Ferdinand becomes United's new director of football. It is thought he is currently on a shortlist for the job and is one of the favourites to eventually land the position.
The 21-year-old Godrey has been one of the stand-out players this season at a Norwich side who have won promotion to the Premier League, and Ferdinand believes he could become a future star at Old Trafford.
