Liverpool star Luis Diaz has spoken to his father since he was released by hostage takers yesterday.
The National Liberation Army took Luis Manuel Diaz on October 28, along with his wife, who was released that same day.
Diaz Snr was eventually released yesterday and said at a family celebration for his return: "I ask my brothers from the mountains, let's put down our weapons, let's use the pen and the notebook, let's work to make it Colombia is the country that has the best peace.
"I thank Colombia for this great support.
"Very soon I will have the opportunity to greet them and give them a hug. Thank you very much, my people."
Luis Manuel also stated he spoke to his son, Luis, as soon as he could: "(He told me) to keep going because things don't end here and to have a lot of strength to recover from everything that has happened."
