The father of Dean Huijsen has defended his son's move to Roma.

The Juventus defender was all set to join Frosinone before Roma swooped to take him on-loan.

Father and former pro Donny told TuttoJuve: "Sensations? Very positive, from all of us. Seeing him make his debut (against Atalanta, 1-1) made us very happy, it's never easy to arrive a day early and then play straight away at the Olimpico. He had a very good impact."

Will your goal be to return to Juventus in July and find more space?

"The objective of this loan is to guarantee him more playing time, because he didn't get it at Juventus. Dean will certainly return to Turin with a more important wealth of experience, so as to be able to compete for a place in the Bianconeri next year."

Why did you choose Roma and not Frosinone? What happened?

"We thank Frosinone for their interest, but when you're called by Mr. Mourinho it wasn't very difficult to choose."

Can you confirm that Dean will have to sign a contract renewal with Juventus until 2028?

"Yes, Dean will have to sign for another year. This was part of the agreement with Juventus."

How did Juventus behave in this negotiation?

"They behaved very well. Juventus and Roma did everything to conclude the deal positively. We are grateful for what happened."

Guido Angelozzi, sporting director of Frosinone, is not happy with what happened. He told Dazn Italia that he was very disappointed by your behavior as people. And he also added that it wasn't Frosinone who were looking for you for this loan. How do you respond to his words?

"As I said before, it wasn't very difficult to choose when Mr. Mourinho called us. We thank Frosinone for their interest and I hope they can understand what has happened, but if there is the opportunity to play for Roma, you try to seize it immediately."
