Former Roma president James Pallotta has taken fresh aim at Sevilla sporting director Monchi.
Pallotta is adamant the Giallorosso's struggles during his ownership was due in a major way to Monchi's work as sporting director.
He posted to social media: "I paid dearly for his choices, I should never have trusted him.
"I wanted (Hakim) Ziyech, as did Baldini and Zecca (the right arm of the former president). This is a documented fact. But Monchi didn't like the player playing the World Cup and so he decided not to bring him to Roma.
"Marquinhos is my big regret. On others ... You understand that the players wanted to leave Roma and we had no choice? Unfortunately that's how football works. I never sought applause, I worked hard every day."
