Ex-Roma chief Sabatini delighted seeing Dybala prove his quality under Mourinho

Former Roma football chief Walter Sabatini is delighted seeing Paulo Dybala succeeding with the Giallorossi.

Dybala has settled quickly since his arrival from Juventus.

Sabatini said: “Someone like him makes those who don't have him regret it. I would've been surprised if he had done badly. Dybala is a champion and a relentless sniper. Roma did a wonderful operation in getting him.

“And he did well not to worry too much about injuries. It's just a question of cycles, even the bad ones pass. When I met him he hadn't signed for Roma yet, but I was sure he would.

“(Jose) Mourinho's presence was decisive for his choice and that doesn't surprise me, the Portuguese coach's influence on players is enormous. And rightly so, given his career."

He added, "For someone like Dybala everyone regrets it, but in any case going to Roma is never a second choice, because the club is making a great path of growth. And Paulo is ready to score another 100 goals in Serie A with Roma.

“Whoever comes to Roma hardly ever chooses to leave. There's a fan base that knows how to push you towards all kinds of goals. The welcome they gave Paulo was something exceptional. It's impossible not to be impressed."
