Former Real Sociedad and Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal has taken up his first coaching job.

Monreal retired from playing last year.

And he has just joined Jon Erice's backroom team at CD Manchego Ciudad Real, with confirmation pending.

Erice confirmed: "He helps me work. I have sent him matches from rivals and he has analyzed them based on his knowledge. He has already been collaborating with me since July 18 and, at the level of joining, until there is something firm, we will not confirm it."

CD Manchego Ciudad Real won promotion to the Segunda RFEF last season.
