Ex-Real Madrid winger Asensio talks PSG move, Luis Enrique and Champions League

Former Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio is happy after his first weeks with PSG.

The Spain international joined PSG last month in a Bosman transfer.

Asensio told RMC: "We were put in contact with them and when they called me the conversations were very good. They started explaining the whole project to me. Luis Campos was important, he made me feel his trust. And the truth is that when they started to tell me what the project was and what the club's ambition was it was really interesting. And that's why I'm here. This club is perfect for my ambitions and for winning trophies."

On PSG coach Luis Enrique, he continued: "We were together at the World Cup. We've known each other for a long time and I have an excellent relationship with him, like all players. So we hope to be able to do well, to do significant things.

"I can play in all attacking positions. Up front, right, left or behind. He likes dynamic players who can move, without having a fixed position. But it's true that my best position is behind the forward, as an attacking midfielder or as a winger. But I'll do what the coach asks of me."

On the Champions League, Asensio added: "I think we lack nothing, we have everything to get there. The truth is that it is a very difficult trophy to win. Sometimes a combination of circumstances is needed. But the players are there, we have the right project. In fact it is difficult, but I think PSG will always bid to win the Champions League and this year we will try to do it."
