Former Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano supports the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as new coach.
The former Everton boss was appointed as Zinedine Zidane's successor in a shock move from Real Madrid, seeing them turn to yet another of their former coaches.
"It didn't seem as though Ancelotti was a contender on Florentino [Perez]'s list," Valdano told Onda Cero's 'El Transistor'.
"It's a choice that seems reasonable to me. Raul is in the waiting room now, awaiting his chance.
"Ancelotti's relationship with his players is one of his biggest strengths and I think the news will be very well received by the squad."
