Former Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has opened takeover talks with Xerez.

Marca says Xerez president Joaquin Morales is discussing selling the club with Schuster and a financial partner.

The plan for Schuster is to offer €2 million for control of the club and also commit another euro;3 million to the winter market if the buyout is successful.

The German plans to make three signings in January - two midfielders and a defender.
