Hatem Ben Arfa could be set for a shock move to the UAE Arabian Gulf League according to reports.
L'Equipe is of the belief that the French winger, 28, is pondering a possible shift to Al-Jazira after failing to complete a transfer to Nice in January.
Ben Arfa was released by Newcastle United in the winter following a botched loan spell at Hull City but was not granted eligibility to play in France's Ligue 1 with Nice as he had already represented the Magpies U21s as well as the Tigers seniors.
Now it appears the former Lyon attacking midfielder could seek playing refuge at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium under his former Marseille manager Eric Gerets.
