Former Manchester United and Newcastle winger Gabriel Obertan is returning to England.

Obertan's deal with Russia's Anzhi was terminated by mutual consent yesterday.

Anzhi chief Said Abdulaev confirmed "all parties have agreed the termination" last night.

Obertan is now expected to sign for Wigan Athletic, where his former United reserves coach Warren Joyce is in charge.

This season for the Makhachkala midfielder, he played nine matches and scored one goal.
