Former Manchester United academy chief Brian McClair has spoken of the club losing Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba joined the Old Trafford club in 2009 and, according to McClair, was set to be the ideal long-term replacement for Paul Scholes in midfield alongside Michael Carrick.
"We wanted him to stay, but Paul wanted to go to Italy and you cannot argue with his decision when you see what he's done with Juventus," McClair told The Times.
"It's always upsetting when players you've spent a lot of time developing leave,' added McClair. 'I even felt that when Danny Welbeck left. You want them all to stay and be in United's first team - but football is not like that."
