Ex-Man City star slams Man Utd midfielder McTominay: Idiotic

Former Manchester City striker Trevor Morley slammed Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay after Sunday's rout of Leeds United.

McTominay was outstanding on the day, scoring twice and running the game over the 90 minutes. However, it was comments after the game which left Morley dumbfounded.

United have now taken 19 points from a possible 21, but Scotland international McTominay insists he's not keeping an eye on the table.

"We do not look at the table," he said at the final whistle. "This is not the time to watch it or the match schedule now.

"We just have to play one game at a time."

This season, McTominay has managed 17 appearances for United, scoring three times. But Morley, as a pundit for TV2, scoffed at the midfielder's claims.

"It's an idiotic answer," he snapped, quoted by VG. "He knows they are in third place. How can you be a football player without looking at the table?"

Morley, who made his name with West Ham United over six years, had over a year with Manchester City, playing 72 games and scoring 18 times. The former striker also had several spells playing in Norway with Brann and Sogndal, where he would eventually retire.
