Sunderland are closing in on veteran French defender Anthony Reveillere.
The 34-year old full-back will train with the Black Cats ahead of a proposed move to the Stadium of Light according to various reports.
Reveillere is available as a free agent following his release from Italian club Napoli so would cost Sunderland nothing.
The 20-time France international started his career with Rennes in 1998 before moving to Lyon in 2003 after a loan spell with Spanish side Valencia.
Reveillere, who operates mainly as a right-sided defender, made close to 400 appearances for Lyon in a decade-long career at the Stade de Gerland where he won five Ligue 1 titles.
