Former Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac is being linked with a return to Mainz.

Buvac has been out of work since leaving Liverpool last year.

And BILD says Mainz have Buvac under consideration after Sandro Schwarz left as head coach a fortnight ago.

Mainz chief Rouven Schroder is yet to speak with Buvac, though he is under consideration.

"We are in good conversation. But it should be well thought out. Both sides must be convinced that they want to take this step," said Schroder.

Buvac still lives in Mainz and is a sentimental favourite for the job amongst fans.
