Championship club Preston North End have signed former Liverpool and Wigan keeper Chris Kirkland on a one-year contract.
The 34 year old had rejected an offer to stay at Sheffield Wednesday.
"I turned down an offer at Sheffield in the summer. I just wanted to try something new and I'm delighted to be here," Kirkland told the club website.
