Former Juventus and Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro feels Roberto Mancini could have handled better his departure as Azzurri coach.
Mancini resigned as Italy coach last month before taking the Saudi Arabia job a week later.
Cannavaro told Sky Italia: "It was a difficult choice. Surely there could have been different times to make this decision. Important matches are close, it was a poorly timed choice.
"He had an important offer and when there are these offers one thinks about it. Mancini made his choice and it must be respected, but perhaps he could have thought of it sooner."
He then concluded: "I really want to coach, I've had experience abroad and one in Italy that didn't go too well. I'll wait and study then let's see what happens in the future."
