Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has slammed management over their handling of Mauro Icardi.

Moratti recently spoke to supporters and the conversation was captured on video.

Published by La Gazzetta di Modena, he said: "I don't know what's happening with Icardi. Obviously, Icardi is a better striker than (Manchester United striker Romelu) Lukaku.

“I know Icardi, he's a very good lad and has always been a professional. You can't just invent stuff about his wife.

“Inter got into knots because they wanted to act like hard men, then didn't know how to justify it and continued dragging on this story, but couldn't get out of it."
