Carlos Bocanegra has departed Scottish club Rangers with a return to America on the agenda.
The 34-year old defender was released by the Ibrox outfit on the weekend and is expected to be signed by a MLS club in the next few weeks.
Rangers' official website suggested that Toronto FC, Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders were showing considerable interest in the former Fulham, Rennes and Saint-Etienne man who spent last season on loan with Spanish side Racing Santander.
USA international and former skipper Bocanegra kicked off his career in MLS with Chicago Fire back in 2000, making almost 90 league appearances.
