Ex-Forest coach Cohen: Don't rush Sangare

Nottingham Forest fans must remain patient with one of their big money new signings.

Former Forest coach Chris Cohen believes supporters should not expect brilliance from Ibraham Sangare immediately.

The midfielder arrived for a mega fee from PSV Eindhoven in the summer.

"I'd be lying if I said I'd seen loads of him, but the bits I've seen he does look like the real deal. I've seen clips of him and I watched the PSV game in pre-season. There's a lot of things you have to take into consideration," he told the Garibaldi Red podcast.

"It's a new country he's just come to, the Premier League is the toughest league in the world. It's going to be tougher week in, week out than the Eredivisie.

“If he's able to perform the way he has been, you don't get that amount of interest from that size of clubs without being some player.

"They also have really good players in that position. Ryan Yates has done a brilliant job and rose to the level, Orel Mangala is a good player and they've got the boy from Chelsea (Andrey Santos) that can play. They've got lots of players who are adequate replacements if he can't do it, but out of all them, he's the one with the most hype and it will be really interesting to see how he gets on."
