New York Red Bull midfielder Tim Cahill has come in at number four in the list of highest earners in Major League Soccer.
The Australian international joined the Red Bulls from Everton in July for a transfer fee of around $AUD1.52million and has slipped into the top five salary earners in North America's domestic league with a yearly sum of $US3.6million.
Leading the way is former Arsenal star Thierry Henry, who plays with Cahill at New York, who is on $5.6million as teammate Rafael Marquez sits behind him on $4.6million.
In third place is LA Galaxy's David Beckham on $4million annually, followed by Cahill, and then Galaxy attackers Robbie Keane ($3.4m) and Landon Donovan ($2.4m), Toronto FC skipper Torsten Frings ($2.4m), Montreal Impact striker Marco Di Vaio ($1.9m), FC Dallas midfielder Julian de Guzman ($1.9m), Toronto forward Danny Koevermans ($1.6m), Portland Timbers' Kris Boyd ($1.5m) and Vancouver Whitecaps striker Kenny Miller ($1.2m).
