Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli was devastated to miss out on a move to Manchester United.

That is according to Martinelli's former coach Luiz Antonio Moraes, who gave an interview to The Athletic.

Moraes was asked about the Brazilian and admitted that Martinelli was upset to not get a chance at United after several trials with the Old Trafford club.

Moraes said: “He was sad when the United move didn't work out, but it didn't last long.

“But he just kept working. Maybe even more than before.

“Gab is a great example for all young players. Things never went to his head."
