Ex-Chelsea winger Malouda set to appeal CAS ban

Former Chelsea attacker Florent Malouda is ready to appeal the two-match suspension handed to him from international football at the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Wednesday.

Despite already making 80 international appearances for the French national team, Malouda was eligible to play for the country of his birth, French Guiana, as it is a non-FIFA association.

However, he breached FIFA rules after turning out of Guiana during the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup against United States back in July and as a result, was handed a two match ban. Malouda is not ready to accept the verdict though and is now set to appeal against the suspension.
