Former Chelsea fullback Dan Petrescu has revealed he's returning to the London giants.

Petrescu is returning to Chelsea to study Carlo Ancelotti's methods.

The former Stamford Bridge full back has just won promotion to the Russian Premier League in charge of Kuban Krasnodar and will spend the winter break on placements at Chelsea and Real Madrid.

"I'll spend a fortnight at Chelsea training and then 10 days at the Real Madrid training centre, observing as much as I can," said the 42-year-old Romanian. "I understand that my wife won't be very happy, but even during the holidays I have to work."
