Ex-Chelsea chief Cech signs for pro hockey team Chelmsford Chieftains

The former Chelsea and Arsenal star Petr Cech is continuing his professional ice hockey journey.

Cech left Guildford Phoenix earlier this year, and is now signing with Chelmsford Chieftains.

The ex-goalkeeper will sign a one-year deal, with the 40-year-old managing 20 appearances for Phoenix between 2019-2022.

With the move, Cech gets a chance to goaltend in the NIHL Division One South for the first time.

Most Chieftains fans were excited about the news, with Cech having an impressive goals-against average of 1.73 last term.
