The agent of Francisco Sandaza says his client will almost certainly reject the offer of a contract extension from St Johnstone.
The Spanish striker has netted 12 goals in 17 appearances since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer on a one-year deal but it is unlikely that he will remain at McDiarmid Park past May according to his representative Clive Jagger.
"Our intention is to move on at the end of the season to hopefully bigger and better things.
"It may be a case of letting that contract run out and seeing what options we have for next season.
"Understandably, St Johnstone are not going to be asking peanuts for the player. They want reasonable compensation.""His contract finishes in May and, although St Johnstone have made a very, very generous offer for him to continue at the club, it's not really what we're looking for," Jagger told STV.
It is believed that Sandaza has emerged as a target for reigning champions Rangers in case they lose star striker Nikica Jelavic this winter.
