Ex-Barcelona president Bartomeu makes appeal to have Barcagae report withdrawn after leaks

Former Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has lodged an appeal to a local court requesting a report from the Mossos d'Esquadra on the 'Barçagate' investigation be withdrawn.

The report relates to recordings of Bartomeu, the former head of the club's legal services, Román Gómez Ponti, and former general director, Òscar Grau, being leaked to the press over the contracts of Leo Messi and Gerard Piqué.

Bartomeu, through his lawyer, José María Fuster-Fabra, argues that the report provided by the Mossos and that today appears in various media, has nothing to do with the investigation that is being carried out for the monitoring of social networks.

"As can be seen from its mere reading, it is nothing more than a new report (and it is not the first) in which the Mossos in an absolutely biased and partial way extract certain alleged indications, completely extracted from context," stated Bartomeu's team.

"The manipulation is so crude, that it refers to the leak of Mr. Lionel Messi's contract and an alleged smear campaign by Mr. Piqué and Mr. Font."
