Ex-Arsenal star Merson reopens Twitter row with Tottenham's Townsend

Former Arsenal player Paul Merson has reopened his Twitter spat with Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend.

Merson had initially angered Townsend by stating that the winger should be nowhere near the England national team.

However, the Tottenham star managed to deliver a great response to Merson's harsh words on the pitch by scoring a stunning equalizer during England's 1-1 draw against Italy at Turin in a friendly game last week.

Townsend then also took to Twitter to rub it on Merson following his exploits against Italy by posting: "Not bad for a player that should be 'nowhere near the squad' ay @PaulMerse?"

Merson has now reopened the feud by mocking the 24-year old once again after the England international was used for only 7 minutes from the bench during Spurs' 0-0 draw against Burnley on Sunday.

The Sky pundit posted on Twitter: "Just been watching the game, did you miss the coach? #RubberDub #7minutes."
