Ex-AC Milan defender Daino wants more chances for Adli; demands better from De Ketelaere

Former AC Milan defender Daniele Daino admits he's a fan of Yacine Adli.

The midfielder is in his first season with the Rossoneri.

Daino told TMW Radio: "I commented on all Milan's matches this summer, seeing the new arrivals. And Adli had impressed me in a positive way, even if still immature. I expected a little more, but you have to understand what (Stefano) Pioli thinks.

"He knows when he's the right time to put certain players on the field, but the boy has quality. I like that he doesn't only play in the offensive phase but also in defense. From January onwards, I expect to see him more on the pitch and that he will find more space. There with (Brahim) Diaz and (Charles) De Ketelaere can take a bit of playing time.

"(Junior) Messias disappointed me a bit, also due to injuries. He didn't have quality and a player with those characteristics is missing in that area of the pitch."

On Charles De Ketelaere, Diano adds: "He was paid an important sum, there is pressure in Milan because they are a big club. Many expected him to be more ready, even for our league. The problem today is that he hasn't found the performance. He showed something important but he has never found 100% performance. There is a lack of continuity in the game. And then I see him as shy, he still has to grow mentally.

"He plays very well, it's nice to see, but he also has to come up with a a little grit, which is needed in our league. (Paolo) Maldini will work a lot with the boy on this. It takes patience, it's true, but it's not infinite. Milan need ready players and can't wait too long for them to emerge."
