Former AC Milan GM Massimiliano Mirabelli says the Rossonero have long been chasing Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech.

The Morocco international is a January target for Milan.

And Mirabelli, now sporting director of Padova, told TMW: “Was Ziyech close to the Rossoneri? And that's not all: at that time.

"We had identified him and Ansu Fati, who was about to expire and at that moment were not in Barcelona's good graces.

"If that situation had remained, we would have taken him."
