Samuel Eto'o insists former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi is the best on the planet.

Eto'o was quoted as saying that Cristiano Ronaldo was the best player of all time but he clarified on Twitter, saying that is Messi.

"I see Juve... and I don't know. They have Cristiano Ronaldo, the best of all time, or Dybala, another phenomenon, but I'd like to see the (Maurizio) Sarri of Empoli again," said Eto'o, according to Sky Sports Italia.

However he later took to social media to say that he said, or at least meant, Ronaldo "was one of the best. The best is Messi."

Eto'o played with Messi at Barcelona between 2004-09.
