Former Real Madrid captain Michel will be named new coach of Getafe today.

Michel, who quit his post as coach of Real Madrid Castilla in midseason, will take charge for the remaining games of this season. He replaces Victor Munoz, who was sacked by Getafe yesterday.

Real Madrid director Miguel Angel Portugal was Getafe president Angel Torres' first option, but talks late yesterday broke down.

Michel shook hands on the deal with Torres at 7pm yesterday after an hour long meeting which also included sports director Toni Munoz.

Former Real Madrid striker Juan Eduardo Esnaider will join Michel as his No2.
