England U21 boss Stuart Pearce is confident he can handle the expectations of this month's European Championships.

"The more experience you get at the major tournaments the better it is for you," Pearce said.

"I've been to three major tournaments as a player and reached the semi-final stage on two of those. I've been here once as a manager and reached a semi-final and a penalty shoot-out. I'd like to go one further.

"I'll be a better manager coming out of this tournament than I am going in. I've still got a vast amount to learn as a manager."
